Farayi’s Timeline…
Farayi was raised in Caldwell, Idaho, where she started playing the fiddle at age 4. She was exposed to old-time, bluegrass, and country through the Junior Jammer Fiddlers and gospel music through church. She performed in musical theatre from ages 5-14, with her final role as Eponine in Les Misérables. This role led her to a performing arts high school.
In her four years at arts high school, she learned over 200 jazz standards, transcribed more than 1,200 bars of improvisation, and grew a love for harmony and vocal arranging. She won the Downbeat Student Vocalist of the year in 2013.
Completed my Master's Degree at Berklee Global Jazz Institute in 2018.
Recorded her first project "Color Me Joy."
Danilo Perez's Global Messengers. Toured all across the U.S. and Europe between 2019 and 2022. Notable venues included Chicago Symphony Hall, SF Jazz, Birdland, NYC, Queen Elizabeth Hall, and Harvard's Sanders Theatre.
Post-graduation, She began to think more deeply about my pedagogy and curriculum development. Allegro Virtual Prep was born; an online music lesson platform with the mission to provide students with the highest level of preparation to pursue music in higher education, enhance their chances of admittance, secure scholarship funding, and build the foundational skills needed for a successful career in the music industry.
